You can’t help a lost world, through worldy meassures. The system is not meant to be replicated, but rather torn down and rebuilt.
New birth.
Follower’s of Christ, are called to replicate Christ, just as He replicates the Father.
Lost souls do not need another worldly system, they need revolution and re-birth. Christ un-apologeticly entered the world of those oppressed by man made institutions. Lived among them, ate among them, and became what they always had needed: family, un-conditional love, acceptance, friendship, wisdom and guidance.
He bestowed upon them value and worth. He took away their shame and self- condimnation through relationship with Him. He lived it, so they believed Him. They were ultimately restored through repentance(change of mind and heart), by seeing the Father differently then they had presumed.
He spoke of large tables full of those most oppressed by the world. Sinful Samaritans who chose people, over religious rituals(love before law). Healing before teaching, going before waiting, giving before keeping, washing the dirty feet of those deemed unworthy. Listening to those without a voice and meeting them right where they were, not where He was.
He taught of extreme self-sacrifice. Letting go of the very things we hold on to so tightly: material wealth, power, prestige and property..not all the moral and behavior modification, and duty we cling to and make idols of today.
He lived it more than He taught it.
He was it, much more than He said it.
Hell was not a place one went to if they were not certain about their beliefs, did not attended church faithfully, or knew not the best way to seek and to pray.
But it was for those who did not see. Those who did not see the hungry, the thirsty, the naked and oppressed. And as deep as Jesus speaks, I believe He doesn’t imply only physical hunger and thirst, but the hunger and thirst much more in need of being filled. Soul level stuff like love, acceptance, understanding, having value, being embraced, taken care of, stilled, picked up, restored, led and guided.
“Hell” was for those who walked on by, too busy. It was for those who did not see their own sin, but thought that they could easily manage and overcome anothers. It was for the sad rich man who was too attached to his things to give it all away. For the one who built barns to hold all he gained, and more for excess too. For the ones who had been given responsibility of the Kingdom( talents, mitas, a vineyard and land) but did not manage it wisely.
Hell was not for Lazarus who laid at the gate. But for the one who believed that crumbs and a place at the gate were enough for such a human.
There were no buildings built or programs adhered.
People were priority.
He left the 99 to find the 1. He knew the 99 were doing fine, but there was one very lost. At risk of the theif coming to steal from, and wondering in a wilderness full of wolves waiting for the weak.
He told of a father who hoped his son was longing for home, so waited for a sign..and even when his son was yet still a long way off..He met him there.
He told of healing, restoring, teaching, BEing with. He was indeed an advocate for the marginalised and wanted those running the show to see the difference.
The lost needed a difference. Love. Family. People.
Someone to show them the Father; not another worldly system again blindly walking like the rest of those on man-made missions.
